LAPC to Host International Early Childhood Education Conference

On September 19–20, 2025, Los Angeles Pierce College will welcome educators, researchers, and practitioners from around the world as it hosts the 46th Annual Conference of the International Association of Early Childhood Education (IAECE). This will be the first time the event will take place on the U.S. mainland.

Themed Enhancing Early Childhood Education: Strategies for Collaboration, the two-day event will feature keynote addresses, cultural workshops, research presentations, and professional development sessions led by experts from Japan, the United States, and several other countries. The program includes topics such as storytelling, music and dance in early learning, flannelboard teaching techniques, and the role of play in child development.

The conference is being co-hosted by LAPC’s Child Development Department, which will also showcase its Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship Program, the first of its kind in the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). This innovative program blends classroom learning with on-the-job training and represents a new model for preparing future early childhood educators.

The event is open to the public, with registration at $15 for both days or $10 for a single day. LACCD students, faculty, and staff may attend free of charge. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided to attendees each day.
